Team Description
In summer of 2006, a group of ambitious and imaginative friends, students of the Mechanical Engineering Department at the Faculty of Engineering of Aristotle’s University of Thessaloniki, decided to create a team that could output their knowledge into reality. They managed to design, manufacture, assembly and run a single-seated racecar that complied with FSAE rules. This was the first ever running car constructed in Thessaloniki by students.
ART’s first participation was in the racetrack of Fiorano de Modenese in Italy. During the past five years, ART can name 5 successful participations in the Formula SAE series, including three awards (2009 FS Class 3 Design Winners, 2010 Formula ATA Most Friendly Team and 2011 Acceleration Run-off Winners).
Aristotle Racing Team’s route these past few years has been successful, obtaining various distinctions and building our reputation worldwide. Some of the most important achievements have been the 3rd place in overall classification in September 2012, in Italy’s competition (Varano de Melegari Circuit), as well as the 4th place overall in a total of 45 participants from various countries in the same competition last summer. After a fruitful season in 2014 with three successful participations in European competitions, the team has been renewed and is following a two-year plan, aiming to design, manufacture and assemble a new car for 2016. Part of this plan was to compete in Italy’s competition for 2015, where the designs of the new car were presented, along with some of its parts constructed. The team managed to take the 2nd place overall, receiving positive feedback for its work..
