Team Description
StarkStrom Augsburg e.V. is the Formula Student Team of the University of Applied Sciences Augsburg, founded in 2010. Since our foundation the fascination for motorsports and racing has been unbroken. Our development process has been fast and evolutionary, presenting a monocoque after only one year of Formula Student experience. After adding aerodynamic components in our third year of competition, we achieved an impressive 12th place overall in Formula Student Germany. In 2015 we built our most successful rear-wheel drive car, which finished 10th overall at FSG, and took on the challenge of an all-wheel drive car in 2016. After some setbacks that came with this drive revolution, we came back even stronger as a team. In 2021, our electric vehicle achieved amazing results: We finished three Endurances, taking home trophies not only in dynamics but also in statics. We also participated in the Driverless competition from day one and finished among the top teams in autonomous racing with a second place at FSG21 and a first place at FS ATA 2021. But then we achieved the biggest win in the team's history: We were the overall winner of the 2022 FSG Driverless Cup, with 3 firsts and one second in the dynamic DV events, and a first in the cost and manufacturing event. In 2023 we won the FS East Driverless competition and finished in the top 5 in the FSG Driverless Cup. For FSG24, our goal is to build on this, even with a smaller team, by doing what we have proven to be good at: Building reliable, working racecars and laying a solid foundation for new innovations.
