FSG ZEISS Real-time Video Processing Award 2024

The ZEISS Embedded Video Processing Award will honor the best electronic system architecture and implementation of a real-time video processing solution for autonomous driving. We invite you to present the design choices for your processing hardware and implementation, as well as the deployment of algorithms.

On 2 to 4 DIN A4 pages, please describe the requirement analysis for your video system and how your implementation fulfills those requirements. Be sure to elaborate on how you address requirements regarding the energy efficiency of your processing subsystem, end-to-end latency, and cost/performance ratio. Lastly, how have you tested and validated your approach? If you have not tested your implementation yet, please describe the validation method you would prefer to use.

We are interested in reading about coherent developments from requirement analysis and concept through validation. The level of innovation will be a key factor in our evaluation. Additionally, we encourage the use of various methods and tools. The team that presents this in the most effective way will win this year‘s award and a prize of €3000, with the second prize being €1000 and the third €500.

Please upload your applications to the FSG website by August 12th, 2024, at 23:59 CEST. We will select finalists from all applications, who will then present their development onsite in Hockenheim to our judging panel on August 15th in a 10-minute presentation. Following the presentation, there will be time for a brief discussion about your approach. Prizes will be announced at the Formula Student Germany award ceremony.
