FSE: Certificate Safety Responsible no longer required
The requirement for the Safety Responsible (SR) of an FSE team to be certified to work with high voltage systems in automotive vehicles has been dropped. All other requirements remain in place.
This means that the Safety Responsible must have at least a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or an academic equivalent. The FSE Rules have been changed accordingly.
Nevertheless, the organization of FSE still recommends the Safety Responsible to be certified to work with high voltage systems in automotive vehicles.
A course to obtain such a certificate will not be offered through Formula Student Academy though.
A list of technical standards applicable to the safety of FSE cars will be published shortly.
