Formula Student Germany 2010 has officially started
Today Formula Student 2010 started. At 8:30 in the morning the results of the scrutineering order quiz were published at the Ticket Centre. The lucky teams to be first in line were the DUT Racing team from Delft, the Netherlands, for FSC and the WHZ Racing Team Electric from Zwickau, Germany, for FSE. The scrutineering order also determined the order for team registration and pit entrance. At noon the first FSE teams were allowed on site and two hours later the first FSC teams could start with unpacking their trucks in the pit lane and building-up their pits.
During scrutineering cars are checked on compliance with the FSAE and FSG rules. Only cars that pass the critical eye of the scrutineers are allowed to take part in the dynamic events. Electric cars first have to pass an electrical scrutineering round and optionally undergo a rain test. Cars that do not complete the rain test are not allowed to drive under wet conditions.
The first teams that passed the scrutineering was the DUT Racing Team In total eight teams made it through scrutineering today. Only one of which was an FSE team, WHZ Racing Team Electric. All teams that did not complete scrutineering today will get another chance tomorrow. In total 92 teams will start in this year's FSG, 77 FSC cars and 15 FSE cars.
