FSG 2006 Rules

In general FSG-Rules comply with the Formula SAE® 2006 Rules. 

Registration Fee´s

The Registration Fee is 500,- €. These includes 15 Teammembers. For each additional team member a extra fee of 15 € have to be paid.

Rule 2.3.4.2 Second Year Vehicle

2nd year vehicles are not allowed at Formula Student Germany. A car built for a previous event, must have had its first competition at Formula SAE® Italy 2005 or later!

Rule 4.3.11 Exchange Rates

In order to convert the costs into US dollars, please use the first official “Daily 12 noon buying” rate of the year 2006 (January 3rd). It is published on the website of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York at www.ny.frb.org .

  • 1 AUD = 0.7379 USD
  • 1 CAD = 1.1565 USD
  • 1 EUR = 1.1980 USD
  • 1 GBP = 1.7404 USD
  • 1 INR = 44.920 USD
  • 1 NZD = 0.6815 USD
  • 1 RUB = 0.03479 USD
  • 1 SEK = 7.8097 USD

Rule 4.3.5. Discussion at the Competition

The teams do not need to be prepared to discuss the manufacturing process of 2 items in detail, chosen at random from the list in section 4.3.5. 

Scoring:

  • 30 points    quality, accuracy and thoroughness of the cost report (as in FSAE-rules)
  • 30 points    lowest costs (as in FSAE-rules)
  • 40 points    review for part content and manufacturing feasibility (as in FSAE-rules)

Rule 5.11.5 Engine Running in the Paddock

Pits will be provided for all teams. Because of COx emisions, running the engines in the pits it is not allowed. Instead, engine running bays will be installed at the front of the pit-lane.

FSG Additional Rule A: Cars leaving Event Site

Cars that leave the event site after passing technical inspection, lose their technical inspection status and must be inspected again.

Competition language is english!

Eligibility

Individual participant requirements are as specified in section 2.1 of the Formula SAE® Rules. In addition, all Formula Student Germany competitors must be members of a FISITA Member Society. The German teams must give their VDI membership number:

Class 2 and Class 3

At Formula Student Germany there will be no Class 2 and Class 3 competitions.
